Beni waited fifty years for the moment he would be able to return and reunite with Ruth, the love of his life since his youth, and go back with her to the neighborhood where they grew up together in Dubrovnik, Croatia. When news arrives that Ruth has been widowed, Beni understands that fate is signaling to him — this is his moment. He buys a one-way couple's plane ticket, gathers what remains of his courage, and walks into his home determined to tell his wife Naomi that he is about to leave her. His heart racing, he places his hand on the door handle, the door swings open, and suddenly... he finds himself in the middle of his and Naomi's golden wedding anniversary celebration, a lavish family event that the household had worked hard to prepare in complete secrecy as a surprise. Beni, who has never dared to disappoint his loved ones, puts on a broad smile and lovingly accepts the blessings, the warm wishes, the cocktails and the moving videos, but deep down he feels this joy is about to shatter: if he follows his heart, the hearts of everyone around him may break. So the present and the past intertwine, bound together by unexpected connections and merging into a stormy, funny and emotional family story, in which every choice could prove fateful. By Tal Miller.
