The stand-up show of Dovaleh G, held in a small basement club in the Netanya industrial zone, starts to spiral out of control and takes a shattering turn. Before the eyes of the audience — which includes two of his childhood friends — he embarks on a sharp and painful journey of soul-searching. An emotional roller coaster races between black humor and biting satire, between love and betrayal, longing and regret. As in life, anything can happen on stage, and on this evening — which is not only Dovaleh's birthday but also, apparently, his last performance — he has nothing left to lose. After To the End of the Land, Dror Keren — himself a stand-up comedian — steps into the shoes of Dovaleh G, the hero of the novel A Horse Walks into a Bar by David Grossman. The book, translated into 23 languages, won the international Man Booker Prize as the best novel translated into English, one of the world's most prestigious literary prizes.
