A cinematic gathering for adults. A light and entertaining lecture about books that became films, followed by a screening of the film "A Man Called Otto." Lecture: From book to film — how is a story turned into a motion picture? Why do we always say "the book is better"? From "The Ten Commandments" and "The Sound of Music," through Agatha Christie's novels, to "The Devil Wears Prada," we'll discover how cinema transforms familiar stories and adapts them for the big screen, and why we keep watching the same stories. At the end of the session, the film "A Man Called Otto" will be screened, based on the best-seller "A Man Called Ove." Hosted by film director Alon Gur Arye. Film: "A Man Called Otto." A Man Called Otto is a comedy-drama about Otto Anderson, a grumpy widower set in his ways. When a young, lively family moves in next door, he soon meets a worthy rival in the sharp, pregnant Marisol, leading to an unexpected friendship that turns his world upside down. Based on the novel by Fredrik Backman, crowned a bestseller by the New York Times. Cast: Tom Hanks, Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm.
