"Who Are You, Qatar?" — a lecture by Dr. Michal Yaari at the Heichal in Herzliya on Qatar's standing in the Middle East and the world. The lecture's focus: how the small state gained influence reaching far beyond its borders, and the sources of its power beyond its financial resources. What is the lecture about? Can Israel and Western countries manage without Qatar? What gives it power in the regional and international arena? The lecture will address these questions and will also examine how the blow dealt to Hamas may affect Qatar's standing. About the speaker: Dr. Michal Yaari is a Middle East scholar, lecturer, and commentator in the Israeli and foreign media. Her lectures deal, among other things, with relations between Israel and Arab countries and with the struggle of women in the Arab world for their rights.
