Trigger warning: trauma of every kind — latecomers will not be admitted to the show! The show made the shortlist for the 2026 Golden Hedgehog Award. We're on bus number 2, on a journey to Poland. The audience is invited to put on the bus headphones and join a young teacher who made a decision that makes no sense at all: to spend an entire week in Poland cooped up with 37 hormone-driven seventeen-year-old students who don't know how to use deodorant. Yaakov the guide will whisper in our ear and tell us about the Jewish quarter of Kazimierz and Umschlagplatz Square; water bottles will fall from the bus's overhead compartments; the girls will sneak into the boys' rooms too late at night, and the boys will comfort the crying girls during a ceremony at Treblinka. But that's only the beginning. This journey is different, and it's about to get complicated. Buried layers of trauma threaten to surface at any moment, as a single accident cracks open everything everyone has repressed for far too long. This isn't going to end well. "The Teacher" is a play that asks pointed questions about memory and repression, about education, about private trauma versus national trauma. An endless hall of mirrors of trauma with no escape. Sound design delivered through headphones creates a hyper-realistic soundscape that places us at the heart of the story, inside the teacher's mind, drawing us deeper into the trip as things unravel. And unravel they do. Join us for a sensory, emotional, funny, heartbreaking, hallucinatory and razor-sharp journey. Written and directed by: Odem Radai. Dramaturgy: Itay Doron and Rotem Elroai.
