In the play Chilvot, two women with wildly opposite temperaments meet on stage: one young, restless and brimming with self-confidence; the other a veteran theater diva, hard as iron and embittered in her later years. In front of the audience they clash fiercely, and backstage the hostility between them is open and sharp. But when both find themselves on the threshold of a career at a turning point, they are forced to set aside their stubborn rivalry and find a way to work together, or at least to tolerate each other, however reluctantly. What begins as an unavoidable confrontation, in which each woman tries to push the other out of her life, gradually develops into an unexpected, unusual and intriguing relationship. The two women, as different from one another as heaven and earth and agreeing on almost nothing, slowly discover a fine thread of understanding running between them — between the one who has not yet begun her path and the one who already sees the finish line on the horizon. It is precisely their fierce passion for the stage, for their craft and for life itself that ultimately becomes the bridge that brings them closer together. The original play premiered at the Cameri Theater's "Here and Now" festival, as part of staged readings of new works.
