Rhinoceros – the famous classic play by the genius of the absurd, in a bold, updated version. A mysterious herd of rhinoceroses attacks a peaceful town. The town's stunned residents first try to ignore the threat, but their anxiety over their fate grows and leads them to willingly turn into rhinoceroses themselves. The play's hero, a young man named Bérenger, does everything he can to keep his close friends and his beloved from joining the herd of rhinoceroses — but is it possible to remain human in a time of extreme threat? And at what price? Ionesco's famous parable takes on a relevant, breathtaking meaning in light of today's reality. The interpretation by Yair Sherman – resident director of the Beit Lessin Theatre, named after Baruch Ivcher, who directed the acclaimed productions "Hamlet," "Hedda Gabler" and "Antigone" – joins the ranks of great directors for whom this play has been an artistic challenge.
