The performances are intended for ages 3-8 and take place in the Opera House foyer, with children seated on rugs and adults around them on chairs. Dear parents, please try to avoid bringing young infants who may disrupt the performance. A ticket is required for every age. By Ido Riklin — inspired by the moving fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. In a duck's nest, a small, different chick hatches into the world — full of joy and anticipation. But time and again he is rejected, until a magical songbird encourages him to set out on a journey of self-discovery. When spring arrives, his encounter with a flock of swans changes everything. A magical opera performance for children by Ido Riklin — accompanied by piano, colorful costumes, and classical music from around the world — by Mozart, Rossini, Bizet, Handel, Offenbach, Saint-Saëns, and Donizetti. Children are invited to join the duckling's journey, take an active part in the story, and take part in a conversation about accepting those who are different, coping with rejection, and personal empowerment. Through the plot, they will discover the power of uniqueness, friendship — and the courage to be who they are.
