The legend "Rumpelstiltskin" raises the curtain on a world where poverty and dreams do battle. A poor miller, out of hope, stakes everything on a bold claim: he presents his daughter to the king as someone who can work miracles and spin gold from straw. The king, his hands trembling from the financial crisis eating away at his kingdom, clings to the story like a drowning man to a plank. He locks the graceful girl in a dark room, buries her in piles of straw, and orders her to prove her power - to turn the wretched into the gleaming, the plain into the precious. Then, just as the last hope is about to go out, a small, frantic, cunning imp wrapped in mystery emerges from the shadows and offers her a deal: help in exchange for tiny gifts. Exhausted with fear, she agrees. But deals with creatures of the night never end well. When her gifts run out, the imp asks for the most precious thing of all: her firstborn son, once he is born. Time takes its course, the child comes into the world, and the old promise returns to haunt her. The imp arrives to collect on his bargain. But in the darkness he offers her one spark of mercy: if she can guess his true name - hidden and powerful - he will give up his claim. And so she faces the final test, between despair and hope, between a sealed fate and the chance to undo it with a single name.
