Twenty-five years ago we went with Ariel Horovitz to the movies and fell in love with the actress. Since then, Horovitz has established himself as one of the most original and prolific Israeli creators, with eight solo albums (and one novel), alongside songs he wrote for others that became part of the local soundtrack. Over the years Horovitz has written about both personal and national moments: in 1998, with the reservists' protest anthem with Sigal Nahmias, and with "Yalla Bye", which became the most-played song on the radio that year. In 2000 he wrote and composed "Ha'ahava Meta" ("The Love Is Dead"), song of the year performed by Tamar Giladi, and in 2001 came "Rina". Since then he has continued to respond in his music to Israeli reality: from "Kokos", which he wrote for Chava Alberstein, through "Rakafot Bein HaSlaim" and "Esrim Elef Ish", to the songs released since October 7th - "Ani Ma'amin" ("I Believe") and "Min Elifelet". Behind the rock sound and cynical humor hides a creator who continues, in his own way, the poetic tradition of his mother, Naomi Shemer. When he pauses to look back on more than two decades of creative work, a contemporary Israeli poet emerges, writing the local story.
