Agamemnon, a play by Shachar Pinkas and Irad Rubinstein, based on Aeschylus. Direction: Irad Rubinstein. Set: Eran Atzmon. Costumes: Oren Dar. Music: Roi Yarkoni. Lighting: Nadav Barnea. Assistant director: Shira Broida. Featuring: Dror Keren, Michal Oziel, Yishai Golan, Ruth Asarsai, Yonatan Hornechik, Yarden Nikfahima, and Gal Mizrav. The plane takes off. Agamemnon departs on a secret diplomatic mission that may decide the fate of the region, under the growing threat of the Trojan War. As the leader on whose shoulders rests the future of Greece, he discovers the cruel condition that could end the war: sacrificing his teenage son, Orestes. At thirty thousand feet, torn between loyalty to his family and duty to his country, Agamemnon faces an impossible decision. Menelaus, his brother and the army's commander, demands he sacrifice his son for the homeland; Clytemnestra, the mother, fights with all her strength to save his life; and the opposition seeks to exploit the crisis for its own political ends. The fateful decision must be made before landing. Following the success of "Oedipus" and "Medea", comes the third part of the impressive Greek trilogy directed by Irad Rubinstein – a powerful, contemporary adaptation of the classic tragedy, examining the personal price of leadership and the eternal tension between family loyalty and national duty.
