Ages 12+ | No dialogue. Douai Theater hosts – Peter Shub – The Song of an Idiot – The Best of Peter Shub. A semi-quasi-pseudo-autobiographical comedy about fear, illusion and the fate of everyday objects. A toilet paper roll that spends its whole life waiting for its moment of glory, a startled bottle opener, a camera tripod that comes to life… Peter is the noisiest mime artist in the world. He doesn't play just one role but several — he's a coat on a hanger, a friend to every self-destructive plant, a prisoner of his own tripod. He dances, gives his own take on songs and cookbooks, and plays with umbrellas and basil plants. So what is this show really about? Well… about 60 minutes. Peter Shub has had an impressive career as an actor and independent director. He has worked with leading international organizations and artists, including RTL's Samstagnacht Show, the Köln Comedy Schule, the Philadelphia Opera Company and Cirque du Soleil. He performed alongside Roman Polanski in the play "Amadeus" and won the "Jury Prize" at the Cannes International Theater Festival for his comedy "A Nice Evening to Evening". He has appeared on international TV shows such as Montreal's Just for Laughs. Peter has performed in famous circuses such as Roncalli, Knie and Flic Flac, and won the Silver Clown award at the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival.
