Doors open at Shablul club an hour and a half before the show starts. It's recommended to arrive close to door opening. Sterling Austin returns to Shablul with a swing quintet for an evening dedicated to the great crooners. The singer and guitarist, with a warm baritone voice rich in expression, brings well-known songs to the stage in jazz arrangements. In the 1950s and 60s, the crooners turned swing and jazz ballads into favorites around the world. Among the voices identified with the style: Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin and Charles Aznavour. On the program: I Left My Heart in San Francisco, I Get a Kick Out of You, Strangers in the Night, La Boheme, The Last Waltz, Mack the Knife, Sway. Austin was born and raised in England and has amassed more than twenty years of performances in Britain and France, as a soloist and as the leader of a ten-piece big band. He combines jazz, swing, soul and classic pop, and sings in English, Hebrew and French. Since returning to Israel in 2023, he has performed around the country in various ensembles.
