Doors open at Shablul club an hour and a half before the show starts. It's recommended to arrive close to door opening. What allows us to grow out of crisis, and how do we turn experiences of breakdown into raw material for creation? In the first part of the evening, Niv Arbiv-Dogo, a music therapist and Jungian psychotherapist, will present three perspectives on the development of human consciousness: Joseph Campbell's hero's journey, Carl Gustav Jung's analytical psychology, and the myth of the creation of the world, the breaking of the vessels and their repair in the Kabbalah of the Ari. Niv will examine the points of connection between the three traditions and the different ways in which they describe development, disintegration, facing the unknown, and rebuilding. In the second part of the evening, Niv will host Dor Aviram for a personal and exposed conversation about his life's journey: from his service as a Golani combat soldier in Operation Cast Lead, through coping with a deep mental health crisis, to a rehabilitation process during which he himself became a therapist and a creator. During the evening we'll hear live performances by the band Bender. Bender is a band born out of a deep process of growth, featuring Niv Arbiv-Dogo and Dor Aviram alongside additional musicians — longtime friends of the two, who are also involved in the field of therapy. The ensemble brings to the stage original songs and music born out of personal experiences of crisis, coping, recovery and growth. Some of the songs were also written out of the clinic and bring a unique angle — both through the patient's eyes and from the therapist's point of view. This is an evening that seeks to connect the great ideas of psychology and mythology with a real human story, and to examine how music can give voice to what is sometimes hard to express in words. Niv Arbiv-Dogo is a music therapist (M.A), Jungian psychotherapist and psychedelic therapist specializing in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. In his work he combines depth psychology, consciousness research, music, and the spiritual traditions of Kabbalah and Hasidism, out of an interest in the meeting point between the human soul, mythology and mysticism. Creator and host of the podcast "Taburo Shel Olam," which hosts researchers, therapists and cultural figures for conversations about psychology, mysticism and the human experience. Dor Aviram is a psychodrama therapist (M.A), a certified couples and family therapist, a group facilitator and a practical-training instructor for students. Alongside his therapeutic work, he is a musician and creator and a member of the band "Bender." Dor has rich experience in therapeutic and rehabilitative work with children, teenagers and adults coping with life crises and mental health challenges. In his work he combines psychodrama, art and play, with an emphasis on creative expression and authentic human connection as an engine for change and growth. In an evening of lights and vessels, he will share his personal story, connecting experiences of crisis and rehabilitation with the worlds of therapy and music.
