In order not to compromise your children's viewing experience, children and toddlers under the viewing age will not be allowed into the hall. "Chocolate Cubes" brings to the stage a moving and touching story about identity, family and roots. Yahali, a boy about to have his bar mitzvah, shakes up his family when he decisively announces that he has no intention of reading from the Torah. Attempts at persuasion fail one after another, and nothing manages to change his mind — not even Grandma Tikva, who is closer to him than anyone and his confidante, who understands that coercion and struggles will only push him further away. Then an unexpected event occurs that upends the family routine and reveals to Yahali secrets that had been hidden from him for many years. With the help of Grandma Tikva, and in her special way — funny, wise and sharp-witted — Yahali sets out on a personal journey into a story that was never told. This is a journey into the past, into repressed memories and experiences, a story that emerges from the shadows and rises to the stage. Along the way, Yahali discovers a new truth about Grandpa David, about Grandma Tikva and about the entire family history. The discoveries cast a different light on what he thought he knew about himself and his family, and reconnect him to the roots he came from. "Chocolate Cubes" is a gentle and moving comedy-drama about the bond between generations, about family memory, and about the invisible thread that connects the generations — like beads on one long chain. This is a new and deeply emotional stage adaptation of Nava Makmel-Atir's book, which these days is becoming more relevant and timely than ever.
