News Season - a horror absurdist comedy, written under the influence of Beckett, horror films, October 7th, and the world of Israeli news. Five suited-up reporters sit at the panel table and deliver a special bulletin to the audience about an approaching disaster, but the disaster is delayed. During this dead air, stretched far beyond what's expected, the panel members try to interpret the state of emergency for the audience — and for themselves. The helpless attempt to interpret what we don't yet know turns into a dramatic clash of different viewpoints, egos, opinions and tears. During the broadcast, strange, mysterious and alarming events occur in the outside world, reported by the field correspondent who mediates the reality outside the studio to the panel of reporters. Gradually, the events outside become more and more frightening, until the reality can no longer be denied, breaking in and dismantling the studio. Will they survive the broadcast? Will we learn something about the way we tell ourselves our own story? A war of commentators accompanied by dramatic news music — the whole show of the Israeli news world.
