Pop Icon – Jerusalem East & West Orchestra, part of the 26-27 season of the Jerusalem East & West Orchestra. Arrangements and musical direction: Tom Cohen. The music of our neighbors has always found its way here and discovered loving hearts in Israel. Their rhythm is the rhythm of the region, the scents that rise from it exist only here, and the movement it creates doesn't just make you dance — it also manages to blur borders. To celebrate the magic of Mediterranean pop, we've invited two local pop stars and giants, Valerie Hamati and Liraz, and together with them we'll dress up and deliver the biggest hits of recent years in sweeping arrangements. On a night of languages, the music and dance will turn the concert hall, for one evening, into a new Middle East — one where we dream and dance together toward a sweet future full of style.
