What happens when the beloved poets' songs of Hebrew music meet the freedom of improvisation, the harmonies and groove of jazz? In a new and special show, singer-songwriter Chani Dinur, a significant part of whose work is devoted to poets' songs, meets Iris and Ofer Portugali, leading figures of Israeli jazz. To our delight, this is also the first appearance of the Portugali couple on the Shablul stage - a musical meeting we have been looking forward to for quite a while. The show moves between some of the most beautiful and beloved songs in Hebrew music: "How Is It That One Star Dares", "Is It True", "I Only Knew How to Tell of Myself", "The Tree of Stars", "All the Wonders of Summer", "And There Was Nothing Between Us but Radiance", "Song for a Hyacinth" and more. Through original arrangements in the spirit of jazz, the familiar songs take on new life and open up to renewed listening. This is an intimate and moving musical encounter between Hebrew poetry, jazz and storytelling, in which familiar words take on new life and listeners are invited to discover them anew. Chani Dinur is a singer-songwriter, actress and workshop facilitator, who won a prize from the Writers' Association for promoting Hebrew poetry through composition, and devotes a significant part of her artistic work to Hebrew poetry and to personal, sensitive performances of poets' songs. Iris Portugali is a singer, drummer, composer and esteemed teacher, who has developed over the years a unique musical language connecting jazz, voice, rhythm and improvisation. Ofer Portugali is a pianist, composer, arranger and music educator, one of the leading figures of Israeli jazz. Chani Dinur - vocals and narration, Iris Portugali - vocals and drums, Ofer Portugali - piano, vocals, arrangements and musical direction, Eran Zilberberg - double bass
