Swing is the Thing – swing is back, and in a big way, with three members of the Hermlin family from Berlin, accompanied by a rhythm section, in an especially sweeping concert. Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and Tommy Dorsey – all on one stage with THE HERMLINS: Rachel Hermlin, Andrej Hermlin and David Hermlin – among the leading names in Europe for recreating and renewing the classic sound of the golden age of swing. They are considered among the foremost names in Europe for preserving and reviving the classic swing tradition of the 1930s and 1940s. This is not just a repertoire – it is an artistic mission. Andrej Hermlin, pianist and conductor, has devoted his life to recreating the original sound of the great swing orchestras of the golden age. With authentic arrangements and meticulous playing style, he brings back to the stage the elegance and energy of the era. Alongside him are his children: Rachel Hermlin, a singer with an impressive stage presence and a clear, precise voice, who succeeds in combining stylistic authenticity with contemporary freshness; and David Hermlin, a drummer, singer and charismatic performer who brings to the stage the rhythm, smile and virtuosity of the great swing artists. The family bond between them creates a rare dynamic: deep listening, genuine joy of playing, and contagious energy that sweeps audiences across Europe. In a show that is all style, rhythm and sparkling nostalgia – they remind us all of one simple thing: swing is not a memory from the past. It is alive, breathing — and it uplifts the heart. The Swing Is the Thing – an elegant, rhythmic musical experience full of joie de vivre. Featuring: Rachel Hermlin – vocals, Lorenzo Baldasso – clarinet, Jerome Etchberry – trumpet, Andrej Hermlin – piano, David Hermlin – drums, vocals and artistic direction
