A solo show performed by Alon Friedman. Winner at Theatronetto 2026. Victor, a failed and lonely writer, an insignificant man who lives in a shabby apartment with his only friend, Misha the penguin. He receives an offer he can't refuse — to write newspaper obituaries about people who are still alive, for a respectable sum. But very quickly a surprising problem arises: every person Victor writes about ends up dead. A bittersweet, amusing, touching and strange show about comfortable loneliness, in a reality where mafia, politicians, media, art, death and penguins all mix together. "The Penguin" is a free adaptation of the novel "Death and the Penguin" by Andrey Kurkov. Stage rights by Diogenes Verlag AG Zürich.
