She's turning 12 in another month. She doesn't understand why she's being forced to grow up, why everyone makes such a fuss over the coming-of-age ceremony, and how she's supposed to get through it with a father who doesn't understand her, classmates who torment her, and a mother who went up to heaven before she had the chance to get to know her. All this causes her to lose her temper and resort to violence, and the school counselor identifies a behavioral problem in Carolin. Before the school decides to expel her, the counselor suggests to Carolin the possibility of joining a club that might help her - a club... karate. She decides to join the karate club, but there too she runs into kids who laugh at her and fight her without mercy, and only Danny, the introverted boy in the class, teaches her that according to the teachings of karate, every time you fall you have to get up and try again until you succeed. Carolin learns to love the fire in her head and give it positive expression. She excels in the karate club and achieves things no one expected - not her father, not the school counselor, and certainly not herself. "Fire in the Head" is a personal, social drama about a girl's persistent struggle to channel herself toward positive places on the way to achievement and a new path. Critics praise it: Fire in the Head is an intelligent one-woman show - "thanks to Mor Anter, this small show becomes a moving experience not only for children, but also for parents, who get a chance to look at reality through the eyes of the adolescent girl yearning for love and recognition."
