At the center of the story is Mati's grandmother, a warm and loving woman who enjoys knitting, baking cakes, and above all — reading the newspaper. But lately her eyesight has been growing weaker, making it harder for her to keep up her beloved routine. Mati, her nine-year-old granddaughter, longs to make her grandmother happy and help her. Out of great love, she volunteers to come every day and read newspaper articles to her. But Mati has a big secret she's hiding from everyone — despite her age, she still doesn't know how to read. This sets off a journey full of daring, creativity and imagination, in which Mati tries to cope with her difficulty without disappointing her grandmother. "Mati's Orange Revolution" is a moving, funny, and at times tense show that begins in grandmother's home kitchen and ends in a surprising, colorful orange revolution. It's a story about coping with challenges, about small and big secrets, about the environment, about friendship, and about the deep, moving bond between a grandmother and her granddaughter.
