Clear My Head - Cameri Theatre

Latecomers will not be admitted. The local elections are approaching, and the long-standing, tenacious mayor, Moshe Schwartzman, is worried: he has no rival to run against him. No rival means no impressive campaign, and without a campaign, donors' wallets stay shut. On top of that, people are already mocking him as a dictator, even as he insists that democracy is his highest value. So what's to be done? To create the impression of a competitive and fair election, they must invent a fictitious candidate — one whose "family will simply vote for him, and even they'll have to think it over first." And when Ilana the cleaner walks into the office and starts scrubbing every corner, it's instantly clear to everyone: they've found the ideal candidate. Her name is Ilana — and she hasn't come just to clean faces, she's here to stay! A sharp, heartfelt comedy about a determined woman who isn't afraid of dirt — and sees it only as another challenge.
