Latecomers will not be admitted. Local elections are approaching, and the veteran mayor who has held onto power, Moshe Schwartzman, is worried: he has no rival to run against him. No rival means no impressive campaign, and without a campaign the donors' wallets stay shut. On top of that, people are already mocking him as a dictator, even as he insists that democracy is his highest value. So what does he do? To create the impression of a fair, competitive election, they must invent a fictitious candidate — one whose "family will simply vote for him, and even they'll hesitate first." And when Ilana the cleaner walks into the office and starts scrubbing every corner, it's immediately clear to everyone: they've found the ideal candidate. Her name is Ilana — and she hasn't come just to clean up, she's here to stay! A sharp, heartfelt comedy about a determined woman who isn't afraid of dirt — and sees it only as another challenge.
