Dead Poets Society at Beit Lessin Theater brings to the stage the play by Tom Schulman, based on the screenplay he wrote for the well-known film starring Robin Williams. The show features Yehezkel Lazarov and Tal Grushka, directed by Eldar Gohar Groisman. At a prestigious American boarding school, it seems the students' path in life is already set: to excel, to obey, and to fulfill the expectations placed on them. A new literature teacher encourages them to read differently, to ask questions, and to discover their own voice. The lessons open up possibilities the boys had never known, but also undermine the order the school relies on. Against their enthusiasm stands the resistance of the parents and the teaching staff. The tension between loyalty to family and the desire to choose an independent path leads to a crisis that changes the lives of the students and the teacher. This is a drama about growing up, about freedom of thought, and about the price of leaving a predetermined path.
