Beni has waited fifty years for the moment he could return and reunite with Ruta, the love of his life since his youth, and go back with her to the neighborhood where they grew up together in Dubrovnik, Croatia. When news arrives that Ruta has become a widow, Beni understands that fate is signaling to him — this is his moment. He buys a one-way ticket for two, gathers what remains of his courage, and enters his home determined to tell his wife Naomi that he is about to leave her. His heart racing, he places his hand on the door handle, the door swings open, and suddenly… he finds himself in the middle of a celebration of his and Naomi's golden wedding anniversary — a lavish family event that the household worked hard to prepare in complete secrecy as a surprise. Beni, who has never dared to disappoint his loved ones, puts on a broad smile and warmly accepts the blessings, the warmth, the cocktails, and the moving videos, but deep down he feels this joy is about to shatter: if he chooses to follow his heart, the hearts of everyone around him may break. So past and present intertwine, tied together in unexpected ways and merging into a stormy, funny, and deeply emotional family story, in which every choice could turn out to be fateful.
