"In His Shoes" is a moving comedy that begins with a small family argument and ends with great magic. During the confrontation an unexpected event occurs: Grandpa Shaul and his grandson Rani swap bodies. In one sudden, incomprehensible moment, Grandpa Shaul — a former Palmach fighter and now a resident of a retirement home — finds himself in the body of Rani, his teenage grandson. At the same time, Rani, a boy struggling with learning difficulties who dreams of becoming a rap star, wakes up inside his grandfather's body. The new, reversed reality creates a series of comic, surprising situations that are funny to the point of tears. The two men's attempts to hide what happened from Rani's mother — Grandpa Shaul's daughter — and from everyone around them only complicate matters further. But alongside the humor and chaos, the swap opens a real opportunity for renewed acquaintance: each of them is forced to live the other's life, to understand difficulties, fears and dreams he had never seen up close before. Through this experience a deep emotional bridge forms between grandfather and grandson, and a renewed discovery of closeness, compassion and mutual appreciation. Will the magic disappear, and if so — when? And what will become of the relationship between them once each returns to his own place?
