Aviv Zemer returns to the stage — this time with his seventh poetry book. This is a book about love and its absence, about the desire to be a father and the fear the chance will never come, about parents drawing closer to the end of their lives, about generational gaps, about memories, about regret, and about time that waits for no one. But above all, this is a book about Israeli masculine identity at fifty — about a man trying to understand what remains of him once the masks, roles, and expectations of society begin to peel away. As in his previous work, here too Zemer is not afraid to expose himself. The actor within him meets the poet within him, and the stage becomes a page: one man stands before the audience and before himself, trying to work out whether it's still possible to love, to build a home, to become a father, to fix what hasn't been fixed — and to start again. Aviv Zemer, actor, director, producer, and poet, has been active in Israeli theatre for over two decades. He has worked at the Cameri Theatre, the Beer Sheva Theatre, Tzavta, and the Simta Theatre, and has six poetry books behind him. Now, with his seventh book, he returns to where it all began — to himself.
