The doors will open at 19:00. It's recommended to arrive close to door-opening time. A performance as part of the marathon series: 'Flew In to Vote – Invited to Perform.' A rare opportunity to enjoy wonderful Israeli musicians who are making it abroad, and to show appreciation for their coming from afar, especially to take part in the elections. Didah Peled is coming to vote, and to perform for the first time at Shablul. She is a tremendous jazz guitarist, a singer with a low, warm, smoky voice, a creator and performer with a presence you can't take your eyes off. She has a special talent for telling a story. Whether it's a jazz standard, a scorching blues number, an old country ballad, or an original song — 'she sings the words, giving them their full meaning and weight, with perfect, enchanting diction' (Jazz Hot, France). Her musical influences range across the broad world of American music — Blossom Dearie, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, and Wes Montgomery — and have led her to build a performance that glides elegantly from blues to folk. She captivates audiences with her personality and her distinctive voice, and together with her elegant, deep guitar playing she stands in a category of her own. Since moving to New York, Didah has drawn admiration from leading jazz musicians, performed with great success in Europe, and recorded with top artists such as Greg Hutchinson and Roy Hargrove. To date she has released six albums under her own name, as well as another album in Hebrew with the band 'Arpadei Haragtaim,' which she founded together with Jamie Wisler and Eran Weitz. On her new album, I Wish You Would, she returns to her first love, the blues, giving the songs of John Lee Hooker, Billy Boy Arnold, and others a smart, personal, and unexpected interpretation. A rare experience not to be missed. Didah Peled – guitar and vocals Maya Donitz – piano Barak Mori – bass Yonatan Rozen – drums
