In the early years of the state, during the austerity period and amid waves of immigration, many transit camps (ma'abarot) are set up across the country to absorb the new immigrants. Opposite Moshav Netaim too, on the beloved hill where the moshav's children like to play, a new transit camp is set up. The moshav's children find it hard to accept the new immigrants, who are different from them, and the encounter stirs suspicion, fear and misunderstanding. Within this reality, despite the gaps in language and culture, a special friendship forms between Yiftach, a boy from the moshav, and Suzy, who lives in the nearby transit camp. He teaches her Hebrew, and she tells him about the country she came from. Day after day they meet, talk, gaze out at the sea and discover a shared world - until a shocking event in the moshav shakes their friendship and puts it to the test. A moving and gripping play about a wonderful friendship that manages to bridge prejudice and cultural gaps, about the ability to see beyond difference, about belonging, hopes and dreams - one that exposes young audiences to a chapter of the country's heritage and history, and to the concepts, voices and values of the period.
