Hani Sirkis – Pas de Deux

After the impressive breakthrough of her work "Take Off," in which she broke a single character into infinite facets, Chani Sirkis returns to the stage with a new work, Pas de Deux - and this time, she meets the other. Alongside dancer Avitar Omessi, a dramatic and powerful encounter unfolds between two drag and cartoon-like characters, as if from another world, meeting on stage without hierarchy. In the encounter between them erupts a stormy emotional range of love, disappointment, laughter, and tragedy. Chani is no longer the unchallenged queen acting alone, but is required to meet all the complexity, beauty, and pain of love. Chani Sirkis is a multidisciplinary artist: a dancer, choreographer, drag artist, and costume designer. Chani began her career with the Batsheva Dance Company and danced with the company between 2016-2022. Alongside her work at Batsheva, she began creating and performing in her drag persona Barbie Cute, and among other things founded the drag show line Cunty Club. During those years she also began creating independent works for the stage, and in August 2025 she premiered her debut show Take Off as part of the Tel Aviv Dance Festival at the Suzanne Dellal Centre. The show has enjoyed great success among audiences and art critics. In recent years, alongside her work as an independent creator, Chani teaches Gaga and stages Ohad Naharin's works in dance companies around the world. Credits: By: Chani Sirkis.
