"Doctor Dolittle" is a small, virtuosic show — funny and moving — combining songs and puppets, inviting us to follow our hearts, to truly listen rather than just talk, to act with kindness and to lend a hand to help others. The clinic of Doctor Dolittle — the beloved doctor who loves animals — gradually fills with more and more animals in need of treatment and shelter. His human patients, unhappy with the situation, stop coming and demand he decide: is this a clinic or a zoo? When he finds some free time, Dolittle decides to learn the language of animals with the help of Polynesia, the talking parrot. One day Chichi, a monkey who accidentally arrived from Africa on a cargo ship, comes to the clinic and tells him of a severe plague that has struck the animals of the jungle. Dolittle, Polynesia and Chichi set out together on an adventurous journey to the distant continent of Africa. There, Dolittle manages to save the wild animals from the spreading plague, helps the arrogant king of the animals become a good and considerate king, and even persuades a rare, never-before-seen animal to open up and make new friends. Word of Doctor Dolittle's kindness and skill spreads quickly, and a long line of people — accompanied by their animals — arrives at his clinic to meet the wonderful doctor who understands the language of animals.
