"Someone's Cousin" is a gripping, fast-paced, and energetic comedy dealing with truth and lies, social pressure, and the desire to be accepted. This year, Tali starts at a new school and is determined to protect her social status at any cost. In a moment of tension, confusion, and insecurity, she's drawn into telling a small lie meant to grab attention and impress her classmates — and before long, the reaction she had hoped for actually arrives. But the lie doesn't stay small. It keeps growing, becoming tangled and spiraling out of control, pushing Tali into a series of complicated and sometimes extreme situations. The further the story she has built strays from the truth, the higher the emotional price she is forced to pay. In the end, she faces a fateful decision: keep lying to preserve her social standing, or choose the truth — even if it means risking everything she has built? "Someone's Cousin" combines sharp humor with touching fantasy moments, and manages to raise, in accessible and honest language, one of the central questions facing children and teenagers: how far are we willing to go to be accepted, and what price do we pay — in truth and in ourselves — along the way?
