For the first time in Israel, a production of the most successful classic musical of all time in its full version (Austria, 1938). Maria, a young nun full of joy for life who struggles to keep the convent's rules, is sent by the Mother Abbess to become governess to the seven children of Captain von Trapp, a widowed and strict (Austrian) military officer. Maria soon turns their home from a house of rigid rules and iron discipline into a home full of joy, laughter and music. She wins over the children's hearts and later their father's too, and the two decide to marry. The idyll is shattered when Austria is annexed by the Nazis, and the young family must bravely face challenges and dangers on their way to a better life elsewhere.
