The story unfolds in the city of Salzburg, Austria. The head of the family — Captain Baron von Trapp, a widower — loves order and discipline. But when a new governess, the nun Maria, comes to the house, everything changes. Beside her, every child feels happy, and even the stern father begins to smile.
