A powerful and moving one-woman show, "Beyond the Horizon," draws inspiration from the true story of Ofek Rishon, who took an extraordinary path — from an excluded, ostracized girl to a social leader working to raise awareness and fight boycotts, bullying and shaming. Ofek, 17, is about to light a beacon live on Independence Day. But a single message, received right before she takes the stage, floods her with a wave of painful memories. In a split second she is a girl in elementary school again, facing ongoing exclusion by her classmates — loneliness, social isolation, insults and a feeling of invisibility. She recalls the inner strength it took to walk through the school gate every day, and the daily struggle of a girl fighting to be seen and heard. Will Ofek find within herself the strength to take the stage? Will she, despite everything she went through, be able to reach out to thousands of other children and touch the heart of an entire nation? "Beyond the Horizon" is a powerful, moving one-woman show about the ability to grow from the most painful places, turn difficult experiences into a source of strength, and become an anchor of hope for others.
