The play "Yossi and Jagger" – a moving Israeli drama produced by Habima Theatre. In the late 1990s, at an isolated, snow-covered military outpost on the Lebanese border. Amid the reality of an ongoing war and a grinding military routine, a group of young soldiers try to hold on to their sanity and their dreams. Between combat missions, endless guard duty and a constant sense of tension, they long for what every young person their age wants for themselves – love, human closeness, intimacy, and an ordinary, peaceful future. Against the harsh backdrop of military masculinity, where feelings are often forced to hide behind a tough exterior, a powerful, tender and shattering love story unfolds between Yossi and Jagger – two young officers forced to conceal their feelings and the deep bond between them. As white snow covers the pastoral landscapes of Mount Hermon, and the outpost's bunker closes in on its occupants with a constant sense of suffocation and pressure, the soldiers face not only the threats beyond the border, but also inner struggles of identity, belonging, and the search for personal freedom. This is a heartfelt human story about love against convention, about the will to stay true to yourself even in the harshest conditions, and about the universal yearning to live, choose, break free and love without fear. Written by: Avner Bernheimer. Directed by: Ido Rosenberg. Yossi: Itamar Kigler. Jagger: Avraham Arnson.
