Revolver — the seventh studio work by the legendary The Beatles, released in 1966. Many critics consider it one of the most revolutionary and significant albums in the history of world music. Revolver was a turning point in the band's biography: the group moved decisively away from the image of a concert-oriented pop act and became a bold studio laboratory uniting psychedelia, elements of academic music, Indian musical traditions and innovative recording methods. Its pop-art cover, combining graphic drawing with a collage of the members' photographs, won a Grammy. During the work on the album, The Beatles and producer George Martin applied a number of revolutionary studio solutions that forever changed music production — tape loops, reverse recording and playback (giving rise to the famous reversed guitar solo in I'm Only Sleeping), and George Harrison's pioneering use of the sitar, tabla and tambura in Love You To, which hugely influenced the development of World Music. The album includes Eleanor Rigby, Love You To, Here, There and Everywhere, Yellow Submarine, Good Day Sunshine, Got to Get You into My Life, Tomorrow Never Knows and many others. Finnish trombonist Kasperi Sarikoski (b. 1988) is today one of the brightest representatives of the new generation of jazz musicians in Finland and Europe, a graduate of the Sibelius Academy, the Paris Conservatory and the Juilliard School in New York.
