Hebrew and Russian subtitles. In the first third of the twentieth century, Stefan Zweig was Europe's most successful writer. His many books lined every home and public library and topped the bestseller lists. But the 1930s erased all of that. His books were burned by the Nazis. He fled Europe and watched from across the ocean as his homeland was consumed by horrors. In exile, despairing and shattered, Zweig wrote his farewell to Europe, "The World of Yesterday" — which also became his farewell to the world. The play "The World of Yesterday" is based on his writings and dives into the complex inner world of a man trying to choose good in a world that is collapsing. "The World of Yesterday is a different kind of theater, blessed with innovation and futurism, a super-league at the heights of Jerusalem.
