Two women. Two poets. Two life stories that shaped the face of Hebrew poetry. Rachel and Leah Goldberg — trailblazers in a man's world, women ahead of their time, whose songs became the soundtrack of entire generations. On a special and moving evening, we embark on a journey behind the scenes of their lives — the unrequited loves, lives without children, immigration to the Land of Israel, and above all, the small things: the habits, the hobbies, the fears and the stories hidden behind the songs. For whom did Rachel write "Gan Na'ul" ("A Locked Garden")? Who followed her and described her unique beauty? Why did Leah Goldberg leave Tel Aviv, and for whom was the song "Slichot" ("Forgiveness") written? The evening will be hosted by Sharon Idan — a veteran journalist (Kol Israel, Israeli Television, and the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation), a culture researcher who has produced many programs about Israel's intellectuals and bohemians. Songs to be performed include: "Ve'ulai" ("And Perhaps"), "Zemer Nugeh" ("Mournful Song"), "Gan Na'ul" ("A Locked Garden"), "Ba'Aretz Ahavti" ("In the Land I Loved"), "Yamim Levanim" ("White Days"), and "Yakinton" ("Hyacinth"). Featuring the quartet: Liron Lev and Natan Salor (vocals), Micki Rahav (French horn), and Ayelet Kogan (musical direction, arrangements, and piano).
