"The Triumph of Time and Truth" is a concert by the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, dedicated to George Frideric Handel's oratorio Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno. The concert will be conducted by Canadian musician Matthias Maute, artistic director of Ensemble Caprice from Montreal. Handel wrote the allegorical oratorio in Rome in the spring of 1707, and it was his first oratorio. The Italian word Disinganno describes disillusionment and release from illusion; in a later version the composer changed the title to Il trionfo del Tempo e della Verità – "The Triumph of Time and Truth." The concert continues the collaboration between the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra and Ensemble Caprice from Montreal. Among the announced soloists: soprano Tom Ben Yishai, alto Dorin Sasin and tenor Itamar Hildesheim; additional soloists and the choir lineup will be announced later.
