A warm evening, flickering candlelight, and the vaulted ceilings of an ancient monastery. Music carried above the waves of the Mediterranean Sea. Here, above the ancient alleys of Jaffa, cello and classical guitar will tell stories of love — from tender serenades to fiery tango. "Tango and Serenades" is a musical journey between cities and emotions. A journey that begins in Spain, passes through Paris, and arrives at the narrow alleys of Latin America. Awaiting you: the deep sound of the cello and the mesmerizing rhythm of the tango, the passion of Argentine dance, and the tenderness of guitar plucking. On the program: "Libertango" by Astor Piazzolla, works by Heitor Villa-Lobos and Enrique Granados, "The Swan" by Camille Saint-Saëns, and "Siete canciones populares españolas" by Manuel de Falla. A concert where Spanish sounds and atmosphere meet rhythms of dance and almost theatrical expression. Love that cannot be put into words can be told through music — in melodies blending into the cool evening air, in the reflection of flickering candlelight, and in moonlight spread over the calm sea waves. This is music not meant only for concert halls. It is meant for open skies, for memories, for genuine emotions, and for moments that stay with us. We invite you to spend this evening on the terrace of the ancient monastery — to listen, to feel, and to enjoy the moment, to the sounds of tango and serenades. On stage: Yakov Kashin — cellist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and a graduate of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Before moving to Israel, he performed with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov, and took part in international festivals and chamber music projects. Daniel Schatz — classical guitar, graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf. Winner of competitions and scholarships, he has performed in solo and chamber music programs in Israel, Europe, and South America. Please note: the concert takes place in an open area on the grounds of an ancient monastery by the sea. Evenings by the sea can be cool, so we recommend bringing a light scarf or something warm in case of cool weather. Also note that there is no bar or café on the monastery grounds. The entrance to the monastery is from the Jaffa promenade side, not through the Old City. See you among the candles, the music, and the sea of the evening!
