The Roommate — a moving comedy by Jen Silverman. Sharon, a divorced retiree in her sixties, lives in a small town in the United States and leads a quiet, simple life. She loves to cook, enjoys her pleasant routine, and her greatest ambition is to grow a well-tended vegetable garden in her backyard. When she decides to look for a roommate, Robyn enters her life — a colorful, unrestrained New Yorker, a lesbian and a vegan, carrying secrets from her past that she is in no hurry to reveal. Despite the great differences between them, Sharon is not scared off by Robyn's turbulent energy, and even finds herself gradually drawn into her unconventional world. What begins as an innocent, convenient living arrangement for two completely different women quickly becomes an unpredictable journey full of twists, risks and surprises that neither of them could have imagined. This is a witty, moving comic duet that blends sharp humor with heartfelt human moments, and has won over audiences on Broadway. Translation: Gur Koren. Directed by: Shirili Deshe.
