The Israeli Ballet's The Nutcracker brings the audience together with the music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in a ballet performance for the whole family. The company's dancers and students of the ballet school perform together in a production based on classical ballet tradition. The music moves between dance scenes of different character: the shepherds' dance, the Chinese, Russian and Arabian dances, and the Waltz of the Flowers. The costumes and set design complete the fairy-tale world built on stage, and each scene presents a different blend of movement, rhythm and color. Reconstruction and staging inspired by the choreography of Lev Ivanov: Claire Bayliss-Neger and Yulia Levin.
