At the center of the story are three Friday-night dinners in the home of a family living near the Gaza border, in the last moments before the country's face changes forever. With sensitivity and gentle humor, the play reveals the family's inner world, showing just how hard it can be to manage even the simplest things amid an unstable reality. When the outside world is falling apart, is family our only refuge and anchor? The play is the debut work of playwright Yotam Gottal, Habima Theatre's new resident writer, staged by young director Ariel Wolf, already hailed as one of the most exciting new voices of his generation. Together, they explore what it means to live in Israel today — and whether the small joys of everyday life can survive in a world where even 'simple acts' demand courage.
