The play Reflections is built like a rich layer cake of conflicts, revealed one by one on stage. It's a funny, witty play that takes an ironic look at theater and at life. At its center are Daniel and Karin, a couple in the midst of a marriage crisis. Karin is nearly twenty years younger than Daniel, and a deep gap in values has opened between them. Israel's chaotic reality is wearing Karin down, and she dreams of leaving for Berlin to live a normal life. Daniel, the "salt of the earth," insists that Israel is the only home for him. But are Daniel and Karin real characters — or mirrors of the inner conflict of Eddie, a theater creator trying to direct his own life and his own work? The play moves between reality and theater-within-theater, revealing with subtle humor and loving irony the hidden world of the rehearsal room: what really happens between a director and actors, how a show is born, and what happens when the gun that wasn't seen in the first act insists on appearing in the third.
