Oh God — a heavenly comedy by Anat Gov. Ella, a 42-year-old psychologist raising a son on the autism spectrum alone, answers an unexpected phone call from a new patient, A., who insists on meeting her immediately. As the session begins, it turns out that the man sitting across from her is none other than God Himself. But instead of an all-powerful, self-assured being, she meets a weary, tormented Creator sunk in depression. Disappointed by his increasingly complicated relationship with humankind, he is considering erasing all of humanity. Ella has only sixty minutes to make him change his mind — and perhaps also to save the future of the world. In this wise and touching comedy by Anat Gov, one of the leading voices in Israeli playwriting, questions of faith, fate and responsibility are raised, alongside a sensitive and humorous look at the complexity of human existence and the challenges life places before us.
