When home values meet the "hilltop youth": what do you do when the community turns its back? A 17-year-old boy from a religious-Zionist settlement is accused of belonging to the hilltop youth and involvement in acts of violence. His mother, a respected educator in her community, completely disavows his actions. But when she discovers that the community she devoted her life to is turning its back on her family, she is thrown into an existential crisis. Amid the legal and public storm, the mother is forced into a searing reckoning with the values she raised her son by, and with the meaning of motherhood. A timely, incisive social drama that shakes up our current social and political conventions. Part of the Opening the Stage Festival, a staged-reading festival now in its 27th year at the Beit Lessin Theater. The play was created and developed at the Beit Lessin Playwrights' School and stage workshops.
