"Marzipans" is a bitter comedy by Maya Hefner, directed by Mor Frank and starring Lea König. Ada, the widow of the esteemed theater man Shmuel Hamershlag, is busy preparing a festive tribute evening in his memory. But her excitement quickly turns to worry when she discovers that financial difficulties threaten the very existence of the event. Into her life walks Rachel Bloch, a former stage star who once had a romantic relationship with the deceased, offering to fund the entire evening — on one condition: that she take center stage. Ada finds herself torn between her wish to save the event, and even shine in it herself, and the deep revulsion she feels toward her longtime rival. In "Marzipans," the two divas embark on a merciless battle over the memory of the dead man — a battle that reawakens all the old secrets, wounds and demons of the past.
