Let It Be — the twelfth and final studio album by The Beatles, released in May 1970, a month after the breakup of the legendary band. A documentary film of the same name came out at the same time. Although the album was released last, much of the material was recorded even before work on Abbey Road, and some compositions were played during the famous rooftop concert at Apple headquarters in London on January 30, 1969 — the quartet's last live performance together. Paul McCartney's original idea was to return to the roots — a simple, honest rock-and-roll sound without complex studio effects. With the arrival of producer Phil Spector the recordings acquired large-scale orchestral arrangements, which caused serious disagreements within the band. In 2003 the album Let It Be… Naked was released — an alternative version stripped of Spector's additions. The program includes Across the Universe, Get Back, The Long and Winding Road, I Me Mine, Maggie Mae and, of course, Let It Be. Romanian saxophonist Cătălin Milea is one of the brightest musicians of the contemporary Eastern European jazz scene.
